A Thanksgiving prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for what I have. I know you’ve chosen to give it to me. And thank you for what I don’t have, because in your goodness you spared me from it.

Thank you for necessities provided and for luxuries lavished on me. I don’t deserve them, and I know it.

Thank you for being who you are. Thank you for shaping me so that day by day I may become more like you.

Thank you for being available at all times.

Thank you for carrying my worries and calming my troubled heart.

Thanks for the hard stuff, for the people who hate me, and for my weaknesses too. They keep me coming back to you.

Thank you for fellow Christians who share the burdens and labors of kingdom work and encourage me to remain in you.

Thank you for forgiving me, continually.

Thank you, Jesus, for being the Word and showing me the heart and mind of God.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for creating and sustaining faith. And thank you for your under-the-radar work all the time.

And thank you, Holy Father, for blessing me even though I very often forget to thank you. Amen.
